The portraits that I create are drawn using numerous graphite pencils of varying thicknesses and densities upon soft white archival-quality paper. I work from the small selection of clear, close-up photos (perhaps 3-5) that you send to me, showing your dog’s individual character and features. Each portrait comes together over many separate sittings, allowing me time to build up many layers of detail, expression, and feeling.
You will have an opportunity to review a proof via email and make any suggestions that will make the portrait even more to your liking before I finalize the drawing and mount it in an archival matting. I want the finished portrait to meet or exceed your expectations so that it will be a pleasure for you to have for years to come.
